MyEd is proud to be working with Birmingham City Council School Admissions Services towards the digitisation of school admissions.
In 2016, Birmingham City Council launched the Big Data Corridor programme to assist SMEs in the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP to make the most of data-driven innovation. MyEd’s proposal was based on extensive research with parents experience of researching and selecting primary and secondary schools in Birmingham. The common findings focused on the lack of comprehensive and up-to-date information and the frustration of searching for information across multiple websites to help make an informed decision.
MyEd has created a platform for the council’s school admission staff to collect and publish essential information from schools. The School Dashboard has been designed for schools to view data that is collected from the Department of Education, provide school establishment information that is collected from local authorities and share essential information with parents.
Schools should submit their information and review the dashboard account every 4-6 months, or when notified to submit the information that is collected by the council.
The system aims to save time for local authorities and schools and to better manage the information on schools in the city. MyEd.com publishes information to help parents to find a place to learn, to make better informed choices when making an application for a school place.
