Why the UK?

The UK offers the following major advantages:

A World-Class Qualification: British qualifications are recognised and respected around the world. The UK enjoys a reputation for unsurpassed quality throughout the world. It encourages skills that are relevant, marketable and much sought-after by today’s top companies which means students can look forward to better career prospects and higher potential earnings.

Academic excellence: Almost all undergraduate and post graduation courses offered by all universities and colleges are subject to strict quality standards overseen by a government appointed agency – the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (www.qaa.ac.uk). The agency’s job is to safeguard quality and standards in UK universities and colleges, so that students have the best possible learning experience. The UK leads the world in developing quality standards and performance measures.

Value for money: Students can complete undergraduate degrees in most subjects in 3 to 4 years and most postgraduate Masters courses can be completed in one year instead of two as in USA, Canada and other countries. The studies are more intensive and therefore most cost-effective – saving you money of fees and living costs.

Free Health Care: You may be entitled to free or subsidised treatment in the UK under the National Health Service (NHS). Your UK course needs to be at least six months in duration to be eligible, although free emergency treatment may be available if you are here for less time.

If you’re a national or resident of an EEA (European Economic Area) country, you will receive these benefits regardless of how long your UK course is. This also applies if you are an international student studying a full-time course in Scotland.

On the doorstep to Europe:The UK has direct flights to all major cities in Europe and students can easily and affordably travel into Europe for short breaks, placement opportunities, gap years, or to experience something different.

An international tradition – The English Language: English is the word language for business, sciences, humanities, the Internet and social media.

There are 134 Universities to choose from:Some UK universities are among the oldest in the world; others are among the newest.

There over 55,000 undergraduate and over 50,000 postgraduate courses to choose from:The UK offers the most compressive range of subjects that can be completed by a variety of modes of study.
