  • This helps to support children's emotional development.

  • They have plenty of opportunities to be physically active and enjoy being outdoors.

  • Despite weaknesses in the educational programme, children enjoy playing with a wide range of resources.
  • Staff provide them with opportunities to be creative through painting, chalking and making robot houses.
  • Children enjoy creating their own artwork from frozen paint.
  • They confidently show their work to staff when they have finished.
  • However, there are times that activities offered to children lack purpose or challenge.
  • Overal , children behave appropriately and are polite.
  • They learn to share and take turns.
  • Staff remind children not to run and to be kind to each other.
  • Children know the routine of the day and help to tidy up.
  • They take it in turns to place foam blocks one on top of the other to construct a tower, and laugh together when it falls to the floor.
  • However, leaders do not ensure that there is sufficient focus on developing children's communication and language skil s.
  • What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?n The manager has taken action to address weaknesses identified at the lastinspection.
  • Some of these changes are not fully embedded and require further improvements.
  • The manager supports staff through regular meetings and supervision sessions.
  • She provides staff with feedback, in order to raise standards in their practice.
  • The staff team has worked hard in a short time to improve the environment both indoors and outside.n The manager and staff plan a curriculum that follows children's lead and takesinto consideration their interests.
  • Staff complete some training to enhance their practice and to help improve outcomes for children.
  • However, they do not target their planning precisely enough on what children already know and need to learn next.
  • This means that children, including those in receipt of additional funding, do not make consistently good progress.n Staff do not provide enough support for children with special educational needsand/or disabilities (SEND).
  • Leaders ensure that staff work in partnership with other agencies.
  • However, staff do not consistently follow agreed strategies to support children.
