Summary

  • This provision is good Teaching is good.
  • Management and staff are secure in their understanding of how children learn and overall provide an exciting and interesting range of activities.
  • This results in children making good progress from their starting points on entry.
  • Children have numerous opportunities to count reliably and use mathematical ideas to solve a range of problems, such as counting on or back to find an answer, or working out which plants are taller or smaller.
  • Partnerships with parents are good because the management and staff give high priority to the sharing of information and involving parents in the life of the pre-school.
  • This liaison supports children's well-being and means children's needs are met effectively and that they settle very well.
  • Management lead the staff team well.
  • Management checks staff performance.
  • Staff attend relevant training for their needs, which had led to the staff team being effectively skilled.
  • This helps to ensure they achieve good standards for all children's education and care.
  • It is not yet outstanding because:At times, the role-play area lacks challenge for the older and more able children, to develop their current interests through imaginative play.
  • Staff do not always give enough thought to planning special occasions so all children can enjoy them fully.
