- This provision is good Since the last inspection, managers and staff have benefited from lots of support and training from external agencies.
- This has considerably improved the overall quality of the nursery.
- Children are much better safeguarded.
- Effective systems are in place to ensure all staff who care for children are suitable to do so.
- Training has helped staff to become more knowledgeable and confident in child protection procedures.
- Risk assessments are thorough and the garden is now safe and suitable for children's use.
- The pond is securely covered and the gravelled area has been reduced in size, so it poses less of a risk to the children.
- The majority of staff are trained in first aid, which helps to safeguard children's health and well-being in the event of an accident.
- Children make good progress in their learning.
- This is because staff understand how to assess children's skills and plan activities that meet their individual needs and interests.
- Indoor play areas are inviting and well equipped with a wide range of good quality resources for children to explore.
- It is not yet outstanding because:Staff do not always make best use of the outdoor space to maximise all areas of children's learning and development.
- Managers have not sharply focussed the monitoring of staff practice to help raise the quality of teaching even further.
