- Staff liaise closely with parents to ensure children make good progress from their individual starting points.
- Staff encourage children to develop close relationships with them and others.
- Children display a good sense of belonging.
- Staff are attentive to children's safety and welfare, both indoors and outdoors, and provide learning environments where they can play in safety.
- The manager keeps up to date with all current legislation and requirements, and has an effective system to support staff's training needs.
- Regular meetings and reviews with staff help the manager drive improvements to their practice.
- Children are well mannered and kind to each other.
- Staff teach and model good behaviour to them to reinforce their expectations and build on these positive manners.
- It is not yet outstanding because:Staff do not always make effective use of different materials to challenge children's creativity and to expand learning.
- Children are generally encouraged to try tasks for themselves, although at times, staff do these for children rather than organise resources so they can consistently do this independently.
- For example, children pour their own milk but staff have to get them water when they request it.
