  • Furthermore, some staff who care for children have not undergone robust suitability checks.

  • On arrival, they are pleased to see their friends and the staff.
  • Children build warm and strong relationships with staff, which positively promotes their emotional wel -being.

  • For example, younger children ask staff to help them fasten their coats before they go outside to play.

  • They wait patiently while their meal is being served.

  • Therefore, it is not clear how recruitment procedures fully ensure staff are suitable.
  • This puts children at risk of harm.n Staff, including the manager, do not receive effective supervision.
  • The providerand manager recognise that staff supervision meetings are 'ad hoc' and infrequent.
  • As a result, the manager has not identified weaknesses in staff knowledge of safeguarding.n Staff consistently check in with children and join in their play.
