  • Notting Hil Adventure Playground is based in the Venture Community Centre in the Ladbroke Grove area of the Royal borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
  • It firstopened in 1958 and provides out of school care and open access play facilities for children from the local community.
  • It is run by the management committee of the Venture Community Association.
  • Children have use of two outdoor areas with swings and climbing equipment, a garden area and a football pitch.
  • In addition to this children have access to indoorgames room and a separate art and crafts room.
  • Al children have access to asecure enclosed outdoor adventure play area.
  • A maximum of 24 children aged from five years to under eight years may attend atany one time.
  • The after school club is open each weekday during term time from 3:40am to 6:45pm.
  • A Saturday club runs from 11:00am to 5pm.
  • During schoolholidays, the open access scheme is open from Monday to Friday from 10:30am to5:30pm.
  • There are currently 306 children on roll.
  • Of these, 62 children are aged under eightyears.
  • Staff collect children from three neighbouring schools; St.
  • Thomas's, St.
  • Charles's and St.
  • Mary's Primary schools in Notting Hill area.
  • Children from otherschools can also attend the setting.
  • The setting is registered on the Early Years Register and both the compulsory and voluntary parts of the Childcare Register.
  • At the time of the inspection there wereno children in the early years age range on roll.
  • The setting supports children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
  • The setting currently supports a significant number of children who speak Englishbut hear other languages spoken at home.
  • Four staff members are employed to work with the children and this includes themanager.
  • All staff are suitably qualified in play work.
  • Vetted regular volunteers support the staff team.
