- Children form good relationships with the staff; this helps to ensure their individual needs are met.
- They feel included and develop a strong sense of belonging as they see their work and achievements displayed on the walls.
- Staff promote children's physical development well.
- Children confidently use the stairs to move around the nursery and access the garden, where they develop their muscles and hand-eye coordination as they play with a range of different toys.
- Staff provide a well-resourced, welcoming environment for the children.
- The children have access to a wide range of toys inside and outside that support their independence, learning and interests.
- Management and staff have a comprehensive understanding of child protection issues.
- They regularly attend training and know the procedures to follow should they have a concern about a child or a member of staff.
- It is not yet outstanding because:Staff do not consistently use all parts of the routine as learning experiences and opportunities to develop children's independence.
- Staff do not always uses opportunities to extend children's knowledge of mathematical skills during play and routine activities.
- As a result, children are not always aware of the opportunities when they can practically use and develop their mathematical language and skills.
