  • For example, they invite staff to help them colour in pictures and complete word search puzzles.
  • Children are helped by staff to extend their literacy skil s.
  • For example, as children look for words in the puzzle, staff sound out initial letter sounds.
  • This helps children spel out the word they are looking for and enables them to quickly locate it.
  • Children beam with pride as they achieve their goal in finding all the words in the puzzle.
  • Staff congratulate children and tel them they have done a 'great job'.
  • Children excitedly show off their completed puzzles to their parents at col ection and tel them how they have found all the 'tricky words'.
  • Children behave wel and demonstrate they know what is expected of them.
  • For example, they explain to visitors the rules for the club and implement these with very little support from staff.
  • For example, as children play a game of football, they remind each other about the rules for keeping the bal low, so it does not get lost over the fence.
  • Values from the host school, such as being tolerant, and understanding, are also closely followed by all children.
  • Children say they 'real y enjoy attending' and that staff are 'really nice'.
  • Staff worked with the host school during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure children's health and safety needs were met.
  • While parents stil collect children from the gate to minimise the number of adults on site, the great relationships with the manager and staff, mean that this has no impact on the quality of care children receive.
