- Since the last inspection, the managers have worked hard to improve the arrangements for safeguarding.
- Children are safe and secure in the club and their welfare is now well promoted.
- Children enjoy their time at the club and display high levels of confidence and self- esteem.
- Staff support children to make independent choices about what they want to do.
- They encourage children's efforts and help them to play well with their peers.
- Partnership working with the attached school and parents is good.
- Information about how children's progress can be supported and any care needs they have is shared.
- This ensures continuity between the different settings they attend.
- Support for disabled children, those who have special educational needs and children who speak English as an additional language is good.
- The club's special educational needs coordinators are knowledgeable.
- They ensure that these groups of children receive all the help and support they need to participate fully.
- It is not yet outstanding because:Staff do not make the most of the time available to provide children with a wide variety of rich and imaginative experiences that motivate and enthuse them to join in.
- Targets for future development are not ambitious.
- Managers do not make the best use of self-evaluation to reflect closely on how to raise the standard of practice to outstanding.
