- Staff are friendly and speak gently to the children who are unfamiliar with the creche.
- They offer comfort to younger children when they become distressed as parents leave.
- Staff use a key-person system if children attend regularly.
- This special person is able to recognise and meet children's individual care needs well and means children develop a secure attachment with the adult.
- Staff are clear about the procedures to follow should they have any child protectionconcerns.
- They have a good understanding about keeping children safe and the security of the premises is a high priority.
- Management and staff have worked hard to drive improvement and the quality of the provision since the last inspection.
- It is not yet outstanding because:Staff are not consistent during snack times, as they do not ensure that all children havewashed their hands before eating their snacks.
- This means children are not learning about the importance of good personal hygiene procedures.
- Due to the situation of the setting, it is not possible for children to have free access tothe outside spaces.
- Planning of activities does include some outdoor play or walks around the grounds, but when the weather is not suitable these activities are changed.
- This means that children who stay all day or those who learn best outside do not havedaily access to fresh air and exercise.
