  • This provision does not meet requirements Children arrive at the club eager to play and are welcomed by staff as they put their belongings away.
  • They are confident to talk to adults and each other.
  • Children talk about their day at school and the drawings they are making.
  • They choose what they want to play with independently.
  • However, children are not challenged enough to engage with the activities.
  • Staff lack engagement and their interactions with children are poor.
  • As such, children get bored and become disruptive.
  • Children are not kept sufficiently safe due to staff's poor knowledge of safeguarding and child protection issues.
  • At times, staff deployment is not effective.
  • Children are not adequately supervised to ensure they are kept safe.
  • Staff do not share high expectations of children's behaviour.
  • They do not consistently speak with children about their attitudes towards their friends.
  • For example, when children are unkind to each other, staff do not always talk to them about it.
  • This means children's feelings are not always taken into account and unkind behaviour is not consistently addressed.
