- For example, they take necessary steps to prevent the spread of infection and take appropriate action if children are unwel .
- There are systems to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
- Managers and staff have attended relevant training and are working with other professionals.
- Individual plans are in place to ensure their practice meets children's differing needs.
- Children's behaviour is improving.
- Staff are appropriate role models and children respond general y wel to boundaries and rules.
- Children are starting to understand and manage their own feelings, attitudes and behaviours.
- These improvements help children to feel safe and secure.
- Children are happy, make friends and engage in activities of their own choosing.
- Staff recognise children's interests and provide resources and experiences accordingly.
- However, there are some weaknesses in the provision for children's learning and development.
- Managers are not doing enough to help staff to develop their teaching, which impacts on the opportunities they provide for children.
- Consequently, children's progress is variable, and they are not prepared wel enough for their future learning.
- What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?n There have been changes to management and staffing since the last inspection.
- The current staff are dedicated and keen to make ongoing improvements and raise the quality of the provision for children.
- They are working more closely as a team and they have a better understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
- Some supervisions are taking place and staff have opportunities to talk about their wel -being and workload.
- However, management have not fully identified where staff's practice and teaching can be improved or how they can support staff with professional development opportunities.n Staff do not focus enough on what children already know and can do.
- They donot provide a curriculum that is tailored to what individual children need to learn next.
- This means some activities do not offer appropriate levels of challenge for all children or help them to make good or better progress.n The progress checks for children aged between two and three years are notbeing completed.
- Managers and staff are not aware of this requirement and are unclear of the purpose or processes to follow.
- This means parents, carers, health visitors and other professionals are not fully informed about either the progress children are making or possible gaps in children's development.
- As a result, children may not be getting the support they need to reach their full potential.n There are currently low numbers of children attending the setting and, at times,
