- The environment is warm and friendly, and staff show care and concern for all children.

- Staff have a strong understanding of the safeguarding procedures that they need to follow should they have any child protection concerns.
- Staff work effectively as a team and contribute to the evaluation of the quality of teaching and care provided.
- It is not yet outstanding because:Staff miss opportunities to develop children's personal independence further, in particular during mealtimes, because they tend to set out cutlery and serve children's food for them, which are tasks children could manage.
- Routines for the youngest children mean that they are not always taken outside in the afternoons, and some only have a short time outside in the mornings.
- As a result, children who only attend in the afternoon may not have access to the outside play space.
- Although links with other early years settings that children attend are developing, staff have yet to receive information from these settings to help them support children's learning effectively.
